Bobby And Louis

Over Valentines my friends Louis Claparols and Bobby Carlos visited Siem Reap. I'm happy many of my friends are discovering my 'town'. Louis is a popular fashion designer and Bobby is an expert make-up artist in the Philippines.

I toured them around town. They checked out Poetry and the pub street area. I became their tour guide in Angkor Wat.

We had a delicious Valentines dinner at Il Forno. I'm so glad they really enjoyed their time here in Siem Reap and they promised to come back end of this year.

Toefi and Eng

My friends from Phnom Penh, Toefi and Eng, came in town briefly to accompany their friend...

...Garnet and her husband. The couple were visiting from Manila.

They arrived the day after I came from Bangkok and they toured Angkor Wat for most of the day. We met up in the evening for dinner and I toured them a bit at the Alley. They checked out Poetry and the Bar Street area. I showed Toefi and Eng my apartment and we had a little night cap. Too bad their visit was short because the next day they are back to Phnom Penh. Next time they are here I promised to bring them to check out the thrift shop.

Wine Republic

Rex, host extraordinaire, (the one in stripes) promised to treat me a "wine&dine" experience in Bangkok and so finally it happened last time I was there. The venue of choice, after careful deliberation amongst the experts, was Wine Republic at Thonglor. Rex invited Julius and George...

and Kawadjan, moi and Norly for an evening of free flowing wine, assorted pizza, plates of cheese and salads. I was deeply honored and impressed, ha! It was a lovely evening of fun conversation that ended with everyone trooping to the nearest 7/11 store for an impromtu weight recording. Why you may ask? Everyone agreed to lose weight by March! How it ended up that way I can't remember now but what I'm sure was all of us had a blast. Thank you Rex for your generosity!

Telephone

Last time, I met up with my Bangkok friends at Telephone for some drinks. It was nice catching up with everyone.

Julius, George and Carlo.

Carlo and Rex.

Viv and Andrea.

Cutting The Sleeves Off

I found this lovely Burberry trench in the thriftshop and they were selling it for a very low price. It's impossible for me not to get it because it's so cheap! I decided to cut off the sleeves and shorten it a bit so it turned out to be more wearable for Siem Reap. Now it looks like a Marni-esque house coat I can wear when it's a little bit damp. I really like it so much because it's unlined and very light.

The Exact Same Thoughts At That Exact Same Time

Carinderia

We call it the carinderia of Julius since he's always there. Honestly, I was hooked myself because of the free wiFi, great service and delish food. Handsdown our fave is the salmon terriyaki with green salad. I must have ordered it like 10 times during my last visit. Dean & Deluca is a New York institution and it gives off that cool vibe, too. If you use BTS it's beside the Chong Nonsi station. From Silom party area, it's a mere 5 minute walk, I guess. I'm so happy it's very near Julius' place because I can just walk it easily.

Terminal 21

Checked out the new mall in Bangkok called Terminal 21.

A Little Bit Eternal

A lovely video about Rick Owens and Michelle Lamy.

I Enjoy Every Moment Of It

Bangkok could be sweltering hot so it's always nice to see in most street-corner stands selling freshly squeezed fruit juice.

I see a lot of graffiti art in disused buildings. Fascinating, don't you think?

I always look forward to eating at Somtam and ordering these two tilapia dishes.

Had a quick meet-up with the Beloria family and their new baby boy.

So cute!

They treated me at Starbucks and Krispy Kreme. Yum!

I tried out R Burger, originally from Hokkaido, and I love it. Very Japanese! I had a Crispy Salmon burger, tofu nuggets and iced green tea.

Phoebe Philo's Celine power is everywhere! Two toned cabas immitations were everywhere.

Took a picture of this woman in Issey Miyake.

Love the pleats!

Tried out this macha cafe and it was nice.

I wish they have Scallops Pasta here in Pizza Company Siem Reap. The one I had in Bangkok was so good.

Diesel Black Gold was on sale so I checked out some pieces I liked.

Had the chance to check out the latest offering of some of the best Thai fashion labels. Had free cocktails and nibbles for everyone inside this curtained area while browsing their set-up. Too bad I didn't have time to stay and mingle longer because of dinner plans.
