Little obsessions...

If money were no object and there's no recession to think about this days I'd like to have some of these little obsessions of mine.

Don't you find the sheep chair cute? It doubles as a toy, no? I can't seem to remember the designer, though.

I also love this paper clip neckpiece from Maison Martin Margiela. I remember playing with paper clip necklaces when I was a kid. This one though is made of silver.

Tie dye is something scary for me sometimes. It just screams of cheesy stuff from some beach. This tee from Helmut Lang makes it cool and hip though.

I saw it in Bangkok and it really feels fun. This Maison Martin Margiela clutch reminds me of furniture.

I checked some Doc Martens in Saigon but decided it's really just sensible to wait until I get one of these Ann Demeulemeester boots. I might get lucky and find one in the ukay, no?

Comme des Garcons + Agnes B.

I went to Saigon, Vietnam last week for a little vacation. Of course, I went around and did some ukay sniffing. Sad to say I didn't get anything.

I decided to stay overnight in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with the idea of checking the ukay places there. I was actually praying for an Ann Demeulemeester boots which I've been wishing to buy for the longest time. Next year maybe unless I do get one from the ukay. Anyhoot, there was no Ann Dem but my golly it was madame Rei Kawakubo and her Comme des Garcons who greeted moi. Choosy pa ba ako? Of course, intercourse, no!

Anyway, this one was kinda similar to my other Comme des Garcons sneaker only this time it has a little bit of rubber heels, the material is leather and suede and it's all soft and has a red lining inside. Fairly new and so comfy to use. I'm so lucky it's my size. I got it for around P500 if converted. I also saw a DSquared2 sneakers which was, in my opinion, too used already and not fit to sell anymore.

Just this morning my friend Brewster gave me this b&w stripe top by Agnes B. which he got from Phnom Penh ukay also. He also gave me an Agnes B. garment bag to go with it. He said it's his Christmas gift to me. I layered it with my own designed jacket and a Giordano tee. I was inspired by Ann Dem, who else, which practically fills my head these days, and aiming for the look below.

Angkor Photography Festival 08 - Awards Night

The awarding for APF's best entry for their $1300-publish-in-Paris-Match eclavu was finished when we arrived. What else to do but party, no?

Carla, a fashion/docu photographer from Pinas, Vincent (Loven's photo assistant) and Loven.

Charles (Pinoy) who had the reputation of sleeping in one of the projection nights. He really knows how to pr himself. In the end he was the star of the traditional APF's 'recap' slide.

Former YM/Jane fashion editor, former Abercrombie&Fitch style director, former Le Sport Sac creative director, etc., etc., Elizabeth Kiester.

Pinoy maniniyots: Candice, Sarah and Akira.

I forgot her name but she was the winner of the AFP award. She's Thai and did a series of the life of chickens which parallels the life of people. She titled it 'Chicken Bang-bang'.

New fab friends.

The love team of the festival, Akira and Eka. How sweet! : )

Dancing in the wading pool, anyone?

'Hey, Mr. DJ can I have a request?' - Sharon Cuneta

On top of the bar!

There was dancing and dancing and dancing.

Needless to say, we cooked up a storm.

Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse

Glow-in-the-dark! I don't have a LV yet but Sofia Coppola x LV or this one seems desirable.

I think the pink grafitti Keepall is LVoe. The orange one is yummy, too

The LV Street was the first one I really fell in love with. I was ready to succumbed when Loven told me they have it in Manila but only the PM. I wanted the GM. When I was in HK I saw the GM but only in the gold colorway. It's not the same. I didn't buy. For now I'l just dream of my first LV. :)

Longchamp x Jeremy Scott

Ever since I saw ms. chuvaness toting this one I also fell in love with it. Then when I had the chance to buy it I somehow had second thoughts. Maybe I was tired that time. Maybe somebody told me 'di bagay sayo yan'. That's why I love shopping alone, actually. Same with watching a movie in the cinema. Nobody to distract me. Anyway, I'm so sure now coz it's been haunting me for the longest time. I do hope I can still get one. :)

That's Jeremy Scott with a friend carrying the bag, the backside showing.

Here's another design of his with the boots stamp.

Angkor Photography Festival 08

Like it happened some 3 weeks ago or so. Anyway jose, the festival gathered lots of photographers from around the world. No, Steven Meisel was not part of it nor Bruce Weber. Itchura lang nila if they get invited. Coz actually the 'style' of the festival is 'reportage' and 'documentary'. So no jumping Caroline Trentini here nor Natasha Poly in fur coat. It's more like the Afghanistan conflict, the earthquake in China, the people of some far-flung exotic place with no toilet or hospitals to speak of. It's hardcore, man. No couture this or that.

Until there was me. I'm the couture.

Part of the program was a nightly projections of photographs from some of the most respected photo-journalists of the world. I'm talking major pips who gets published in Paris Match, National Geographic, etc. Yun nga lang very depressing ang mode.

But a lot of people came to see it. Plus wine-wine chenes, of course. Sushyalan.

That's Charles (Philippine representative), Loven and Vince at the back. The opening was swarming with cool people. I don't know what's with the creative type of the photography version. So nonchalant, so care-free. Unlike in the fashion world where people could be so snotty.

Inspired, I took this...

and this.

Inspiring installation at Dior Homme Paris

The deeply inspiring, to me at least, installation by young Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito at the 25 Rue Royale address of Dior Homme was recently unveiled to the fashion crowd. Nine thousand black decoupage butterfly swarm into a poetic swirl in the white boutique. Reminds me of our 'flying' gold butterfly for Loven Ramos' installation or the recent two thousand ping-pong balls we had to hang individually to the gallery ceiling. It's a sight but a pain, nonetheless.

And speaking of Dior Homme, a friend found ME a suit in the thrift shop. He said I should lose some more weight to fit in it. It's, of course, a challenge I can't refuse.
