Pleated And Tailored

I haven't been thrifting in a while due to work. Imagine all those pieces I missed grabbing from the hands of other thrifters! And I'm telling you there are a lot more thrifters now. I know because some of the most hardcore and die-hard thrifting addicts are my friends. But I still manage to find really nice pieces that suit my sensibility. And I'm so happy with these two finds a couple weeks ago.

My friend Blady dragged me for an early thrifting jaunt and I found this black Pleats Please Issey Miyake long coat. It's something I've been wanting to add to my wardrobe. I saw a similar piece in Bangkok and I didn't have the budget for it at that time. I've got some few pieces of Pleats Please and it's really practical to wear. What I love about Please Please is it's so versatile for travelling. No need to iron and it's so easy to wash. My friend Marie is possibly the biggest Issey Miyake collector of his pleated stuff. And she almost wears Issey Miyake everyday!

I lost count how many Yohji Yamamoto piece I have but it never seems enough. I dragged my friend Toefi this time for some thrifting time and I was ecstatic to find this double breasted jacket. It's from the Y's line and it's just perfect for me.

Battambang

My church organized a trip to Battambang so we can visit our sister church there and also to play a football match.

A great omen welcomed me when I saw this Margiela AIDS tee slogan printed on the pants of one of the brothers. It was so funny seeing it there in Battambang. Who would have thought printing it in the bum of a pants.

The church prepared a very exotic dinner composed of crispy fried snapper with peanut sauce, Khmer chicken soup, crispy fried wild bird and fried rice. It's my first time to eat such offering for dinner.

The wild bird and fish was my favorite.

We stayed at Villa P'kka, a very lovely place. It's my kind of place.

Our room was not so big but I like the shabby chic elements. I especially like that they use white sheets. It's tastefully done.

I'd love to go back and stay there again.

Battambang is really a very sleepy town. Nothing much to do. I guess fishing would be an activity to try if you fancy it.

We caught a small fish.

And fought with this feisty big clawed crab. Very Captain Hook, I say.

I like silence a lot. There's too much noise in life.

I like the simple life.

Battambang town.

One night we explored the town and ended up at Gecko.

The foorball match was intense. And very hot!

And our church ended up winning the championship.

Over Wine And Sausage

I enjoy the company of my friends more when we just talk over some vino and yummy nibbles. Simple fun.
