Random Thoughts

There are better things left unsaid. I have clipped the wings of my tongue for my own good and to protect other people. But I never promised that I will forever be silent. There are better times where it's right to be loud and say the things that I want. In time...

It will never be the same.

Nightout with Ralph and Pete

Pete, the cousin of Ralph (son of Ta Jak), briefly came home to visit family and friends. He's actually based in Chicago. He plans to come back next year to try life here. First, you gotta save lots of dollars, man. Hehehe!

Coffee at Coffee Plus

It was supposed to be a happy night. Well, sorta. But it was also the wake of Justin's mom. I really can't stay in places where the dead are being laid like cemeteries, funeral parlors or wakes. I really just can't stay long. Even when my dad died, I was forever away or doing something else. I also don't look inside the coffin. And I'm telling you it's not because I'm afraid to die. I'm not actually afraid to die. I'm pretty sure where I'm going if I die. I don't like the absence of life though. It's not like dying where our soul goes on with another life. But a dead body is just like a lifeless shell. It's sad that way. No life.

We had coffee with friends.

Thank You 2006

Ask and ye shall receive!

My oh my, quite an interesting Christmas and New Year celebration I had. So much food, so much party, so much gifts, so much everything. I've learned to count my blessings coz honestly people there are more unlucky pips out there trying just to survive. But I won't go on being preachy preachy (so not me) here. I'd rather count my gifts which I really love to do. Reminds me of the stuff I haven't got yet. hehehe

So what did I get this Christmas?

1. 2 red Bench underwear
2. Disney mug
3. Paul Smith button down shirt, short sleeve, pale green, perfect for Summer 2007
4. Paul Smith navy long sleeve shirt
5. Eley Kishimoto band style cardigan (super love!!!!)
6. Dolce&Gabanna jeans
7. Cosmic Wonder black tee
8. 2 Vivienne Westwood tee, both black
9. vintage Jean Paul Gaultier bag
10. a block of candle
11. Bench face towel
12. Woods&Gray waistcoat
13. Y Yohji Yamamoto shirt
14. a bottle of wine
15. gift certicates for the spa
16. one thousand pesos
17. a Timex watch gift certificate
18. an oven toaster
19. a 14" colored TV
20. Paul Smith sweater
21. Etro orange sweater
22. Calvin Klein black tee
23. vintage Helmut Lang jeans (i'm guessing circa 2000 or 01)
24. Marc Jacobs button down shirt
25. a bottle of Cetaphil cleanser
26. a Diesel tee
27. a Salad top
28. a box of Belgian chocolates
29. a box of assorted chocolates
30. a box of Vienna sausage in cans
31. Hugo Boss perfume
32. Polo Sport perfume
33. vintage Helmut Lang tank (my friends know I'm obsessed with Helmut Lang, even the one's that don't fit me. I just keep it and look at it.)

and lots of hugs and kisses.

I'm pretty sure I've forgotten a lot of the things given to me. I feel so lucky last year and I'm feeling so blessed this year. I don't know but I just feel I'm going to have a blast for 2007. Even my friend Fate is so lucky, Rafe Totengco gifted her a bag when they had a Christmas drink.

Thank you so much everyone for the gifts you have given me (you know who you are). And thank you also to all the people who gave me gifts even though it was not Christmas yet (yes, that's you Ms. Chuvaness, Mr. Claparols, Mr. Carlos, Ms. Aguadera, Mr.&Ms. Peñalosa, Mr.&Ms. Ramos, Ms. Taleon, Ms. Yap, Ms. Cariño, Ms. Villanueva, Ms. Syching and many more too beautiful to want their names mentioned)hehehe!

I love you all! Happy New Year!

Female Fashion Creature (international)

It's chic to have a list at the end of the year. So I came up with my own list - my favorite female fashion creature. These women have fascinated me for the longest time now with their consistency in creating their world with such ease, style and flair. Each fashion incarnation, each bag or clothes put on trancends fashion and becomes their own.

Hidetoshi Nakata and Nicolas Ghesquiere at CY Fashion Award

Fashion technical award (?), Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere

One of my fave victim and Fashion Icon awardee, Hidetoshi Nakata. Fashion victims do get awards.

Maggie Cheung, International Fashion Icon and Balenciaga addict

'Channel Young' China Fashion Awards 2006
Stepping into its sixth anniversary Channel Young the Shanghai Media Group's popular lifestyle TV channel and Dragon TV presented this year's China Fashion Awards on Friday, live from Shanghai.
The awards honored the 30 most successful figures and trend-setters in fashion, entertainment, music and sports from China and the rest of the world.
Maggie Cheung won the top award: International Fashion Icon. She expressed her excitement and said that it was a special award for her since other prizes she'd received were all for her films.
She said she'd probably cooperate with director Jia Zhangke in his new film if the script was suitable for her. The actress revealed that she is a big fan of director Jia.
Japanese sports star Hidetoshi Nakata also grabbed a Fashion Icon award.
Stylish Actress Awards went to Hong Kong's Carina Lau and Chinese mainland actress Zhou Xun.
Film veteran Leung Ka Fai and young Chinese mainland actor Huang Xiaoming took home Stylish Actor Awards.
Taiwan pop tart Jolin Tsai was identified as Asian Stylish Breakthrough Singer and also one of the Stylish Female Singers along with Karen Mok and Han Xue.
Stylish Male Singer awards were won by Eason Chan, Alan Luo and Chen Kun.
In the technical category fashion designer awards went to Nicolas Ghesquiere and Joseph Li. Russian Sasha Pivovarova received Most Stylish Model award and Greg Kadel took the Stylish Photographer award.

Hidetoshi Nakata

I love fashion victims. One of the biggest fashion victims the media has dubbed is Japanese soccer superstar Hidetoshi Nakata. (I think David Beckham is more of a fashion victim but I really don't like his style). According to Ms. Chuvaness (Cecile Zamora Van Straten), Hide's the boyfriend of fashion genius, Nicolas Ghesquiere. She should know coz they were among the few who had dinner with the two when they stopped in Manila (check www.mnlstyl.blogspot.com for complete update).

Dubbed the "Japanese David Beckham" because of his celebrity status in his homeland, the 29-year-old is considered one of the best players to ever come out of Asia. He played for several Italian clubs and is currently with the Bolton Wanderers in England. Female admirers might appreciate the fact that he's not really into watching soccer. "I don’t really understand why people are football fans," he told London's Sunday Times. "I don’t like to watch any sport so I don’t understand what makes people do that." He's not married. (but of course...)

End of the Year Party!

"Hostess with the mostest" in training, Frances "Titit" Pefianco cooked up an "End of the Year" party recently with chef du jour Miguel Cordova and party guy Vince Ascalon. Friends of the trio were invited for some revelry at Afrique's Del Rio where Miguel prepared some palate pleasers of juicy ham, beef salad, samosas, pasta, dips, sauces and other magical treats for the stomach. Needless to say, Afrique's was filled and it spilled right out of the street. Of course, booze overflowed which everyone extended to Flow and the newly refurbished Club Verse. It was a night of the "cheapest exchange gift" (the most ugliest and cheapest gift you can give), Trip to Jerusalem game (where the winners are the ones with the most glam pose) and the latest gossip around town. Seeing everyone laughing, dancing, eating and having a good time, Titit (in her usual high pitched voice) declared the party a winner!

Random Thoughts

The past weeks were so hectic. i had to finish several pieces for some photoshoot for several magazines. i had to do an accessory, a swimwear and a mini skirt. then im harassed today in sending the pictures of our last fashion show which was covered by Mega magazine. the agency in charge of sending it was just not doing their job. nakakaloka!

i did some shopping a week ago and bought a Paul Smith jeans. there was a sale when i went to Manila. lots of beautiful pieces. some of the pieces are not for me though even though how much i love it. so winter ang drama. wool pieces and thick lining.

also checked the YDG sale. very nice. met the designers. thank goodness the driver im with was so patient in looking for these out-of-the-mall sales.hehehe

i really had fun.
