I think it was with my friend Rhea when I bought this drape-y vest from a thrift shop in Sakrolay. I kinda like how it frames the shirt and make it less 'waiter-ish'.

Most Admired Designer: A lot! But I'm still constantly obsessing over Helmut Lang - his past works, his philosophy, his move into the art world, everything about him. If he releases a book I'd be the first one to buy but I think it's unlikely because he is too cool for that, but who knows.
Whose closet you'd like to raid: Nobody comes to mind...maybe Johnny Depp's closet. Or the closets of Hedi Slimane or Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga.
Scent of the Moment: Higher Dior by Dior Homme, my scent for years now.
Design Philosophy: Quality over quantity
Fashion extravagance: Fashion to me is never extravagant. I buy only what I like to wear and I keep it for a very long time.
Fashion Icon: 'Elegance is refusal' - Coco Chanel
Fashion Must have: A good bar of soap. Even though how fab you dress if you don't smell nice I don't think you will ever be fashionable.
Best Dressed: Locally, I think Joan Bitagcol (model, photographer) and Cecile Zamora van Straten (writer, fashion designer) are best dressed. They both have that certain quirkiness I find intriguing.
Best Dressed: Internationally, I think Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester is very well dressed. I can imagine myself wearing what she's wearing. Fashion writer Martin Webb looks very dapper to me.
Fashion No-no: I really don't like rules especially in fashion. I don't want to limit myself to what I can wear.
Fashion Cheap thrills: Thrift shopping is my kind of thrill. I once found a Comme des Garçons tee for less than a dollar. I was ecstatic. Everytime I find something I like I get a natural high.
Favorite Destinations: Thrift shops in Phnom Penh, ukay-ukay in Iloilo, bookstores in Singapore, shopping in Hong Kong, getting lost in Bangkok, etc.
Current Occupation: art gallery director by day, clothes designer by night and freeloader during days off
Fashion Advice: I don't like dispensing fashion advice. I like the diversity of style that people come up with. I guess, being true to yourself is some sort of advice, I don't know.

Andy Warhol 'Campbell Soup' shirt
Been busy lately, lots of things going on. Anyways highways, let me tell you about one of my fave shirt lately.
Got this shirt from a Japanese thriftshop in Phnom Penh. I got 2 actually and I gave one to Loven. It's the same shop where Fate got me an Issey Miyake shirt, too. Need to go there again and check out what other wonderful new stuff they have.

Yes, I know I'm fat!!! And I'm working on it. Been going to the gym religiously. I just had to hear it when I was in Manila when friends would tell me I'm so fat instead of saying hello first or something. Kainis but I needed it. The worsest is when Tina Daniac said, 'Omg! Hindi ka na androgynous!'

Strike the pose in motorcycle pants
I discovered this motorcycle pants in the thrift store down Pub Street area one lazy Saturday. Alas, that thrift store was no more the last time I checked. Either they transferred or really closed down, I don't know. What attracted me to it is the idea of protection, by way of pads on the hips, knees and leg area. The short length of the pants leg boggled me though and thought that since it's usually paired with padded, high cut boots it will cumbersome to have lots of extra fabric in there. I liked the sportiness of it not associated with basketball or some common sports.

Strike the Pose in gray shirt
Got this shirt from the thrift shop. There's a few here in Siem Reap. There's not a lot of stores here that sell non-touristy stuff. They mostly stock stuff from Thailand. It's not my style though so I just do with ukay or thrift shopping. This shirt has no label but it was well done. I like the exaggerated folds on the sleeves and the very light gray fabric.

Some thoughts
I’m going to Phnom Penh on Saturday to primarily meet an artist who I want to exhibit here in the Arts Lounge. I’m also attending the opening of 15 contemporary Khmer artists at Reyum and I’m checking out some new galleries.
On the side I want to see the newly opened KFC there. Not that I eat chicken but some collegues here in the hotel asked me to buy some. I know, it’s funny but then a craving’s a craving. I could totally relate like I’m wanting to have some bangus belly right now with garlic rice. I could go on and on about what I want. The list is endless!
If I have time on Sunday I might check out the little shops there and possibly meet some designers and discuss of having their works shown for a fashion show we are organizing here in the hotel, probably end of the year.

The other night I was so excited because a friend told me he is giving me a Hussein Chalayan shirt. Another friend from Malaysia, who went to Berlin, got me this cute zipper bracelet. Of course, I’m elated about the gifts since it is so me, but more than that, I get this warm feeling inside because they remembered me.

Last night, Pastor Blady and I started our one-on-one Bible study. I really needed it right now. I reached a point in my life where I want to grow more as a Christian. I don’t think it’s just enough that you believe in Jesus. There’s so much more facets of Christianity that I need to discover, apply in my life and really process. It’s not as simple as just believing.
One of the hardest part of being me is my being secretive. Sure I’ve chronicled so many things about me in this blog but those are just snippets of my life. It’s not even half of me. I may make this the wrong reason for having the Bible study but I think of it as a therapy. I unburdened to Pastor Blady some of my most hidden secrets which have bothered me for the longest time. I must admit it’s hard given the delicacy of the matter. But you know what, I’m happy I’ve taken this decision. I’m slowly understanding my purpose for coming here in Cambodia.

First haircut here!
After the AHA opening, went home and I was kinda tipsy and couldn't sleep.
So I decided to cut my hair.
Did it myself. Loven helped me to even out the back.
Whatsyouthink? I would never ever have a haircut here. Someone I know got a haircut and he ended up looking like Nora Aunor in 'Ang T-bird at Ako'. Scary!
