Sunset

View outside my room window.

Shades of Blue

This was my attempt to grab similar shaded clothing items in my closet. It was so hot so I got my seldom worn AMEN tank that I bought from Backstage a long time ago. The last time I remember wearing it was when I vacationed in Laos two years ago.

The navy blue vest is a JapanTS find. It's actually very hard to tailor vests and jackets so I really appreciate sartorial items like that especially if it's impeccably done. This bespoke piece I found is perfection. It hugs my torso like a dream. I'm so happy with this $1 find. My pants is another thrift shop find in Phsar Krolayn and it's a drawstring denim that's super loose and actually quite large for moi. But I like the volume it creates and it's very comfy like pajama pants. I tucked it in my canvas boots because it's also too long for my legs but when I'm in the house I love how it drags and feels so poetic that way. My bag is Herve Chapelier in blue and grey colorway. So practical these French nylon bags.

Cartier

Ever the attention seeker, he will block your view of the computer screen when he feels you neglect him.

But how can you get angry with an adorable face like that.

Our spoiled cat, Cartier.

Yummy Lunch

Typical food in the house during lunch:

Tofu curry with beansprout. Yum, yum, yum! Our version of Tofu Sate.

Couscous with Vegetables.

Breaded shrimps with sweet yam.

What have you eaten for lunch lately?

Cacharel

I didn't think I could do it but I've been succesfully avoiding wearing all-black outfits for weeks now.

Another shade I rocked recently is purple and thanks to this Cacharel jacket I scored from Japan Thrift Shop which anchored the look. I paired it with an ube-esque tank, also an ukay find, which reminded me of an Eairth piece I saw in their workshop. The purplish Calvin Klein jeans was also a JapanTS find. Man, the things I find there. I'm actually itching to go again since I heard they've got a huge new shipment opened recently.

Oh, I think the red Topman belt and Muji sneakers somehow makes it a little bit interesting. A sartorial flair, if you may. I'd like to think it's very Dries Van Noten-ish, non?

I really love the plaid and wrinkly texture of the jacket.

The label, I'm guessing, was during the Clements Ribeiro years. Other designers who helmed the label includes Esther Angula and the prints genius husband&wife team Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto. Suzanne Clements & Inacio Ribeiro are also a couple. Today the collection is designed by an in-house team.

For the look, I decided to use this tiny Prada backpack find at, where else?, Japan TS. Me got it for $1, can you believe? I guess my look reminded me of college although it's far from the all-black, Helmut Lang-ish looks I've really worn back then. Maybe I would style some nerdy college type with this look, lol! Just add some rounded spectacles to complete the look, non?

I was dreaming of a Prada backpack in college coz the only thing I can afford was this blue knock-off. Mind you, Prada wasn't popular when I was in college and so was Helmut Lang so nobody did really understand my obsession with those labels except for my friend Faith who was into Calvin Klein minimalism when everybody was still stuck in their 80's duds. Everyone was into Jansport and Eastpak.

G in SR

Look do we have here?! It's Gibo, ITSELF, in Siem Reap. He came with Pat for a 3 day r&r. I bumped into them last night on the street. Was I shocked or what?! Nobody can really escape me when you're in MY town, honey. ;)

We haven't seen each other for a long time and I must say he's looking good. Of course, nothing like an injection of formalin and daily use of Lab Series to maintain the mummified complexion. Kawadjan , dear, I suggest you better take note because it's Oscar de la Renta territory for you soon so you will NEED this.

I went with them to the night market for some souvenirs and I ended up buying stuff for myself, too.

We checked this used bookstore but ended up not buying anything.

I brought them to the Arts Lounge at Hotel de la Paix to see our latest exhibit.

Of course, I also showed them around the hotel.

Apres, we went for dinner at the Sugar Palm. The food was delish and I missed it. We had some drinks at Pub Street but went home early because Gibo had to do 'sunrise' at Angkor Wat.

We met up for lunch at AHA today. It's the last day of their short vacation. I love Gibo's tee with the print 'NOT MADE IN CHINA'. How cute is that? It was fun catching up with Gibo and finally meeting Pat. We DIDN'T really talk about our friends like Kawadjan, Bubbles, Lyka, Robert etc. We don't gossip like that, uy! ;)

I wish they could have stayed longer so I could show them around.

Knowing Gibo likes his wine, AHA was the perfect place to bring him because of the extensive wine offered.

We settled for a Chilean sauvignon blanc and I really like that the fruitiness of it complimented our food. We had some cheese, citrus salad, prawns and other nibbles.

Not that the food really mattered for Gibo, actually. He related that on the way to Siem Reap, on the plane they served corned beef with rice and his drink of choice was sparkling wine, of course. That was breakfast time.

It's like someone I know who likes beer (Looking straight at you).

I think Gibo and Pat enjoyed their stay in Siem Reap even though it's just short. I asked them to come back again because there's still so much to see here beyond the usual tourist-y areas. Trust me, I know ;)

Hanging Out

It was fun sharing good laughs with Loven, Soukon, Sela, Vichet, Nimol and Blady at Art Deli over drinks and good food.

Seafood Risotto

It's in a bottle but it's still Starbucks.

Quatro Formaggio pizza.

Seafood Tempura

Tuna Sashimi with fresh Meric.

Yum!

That weird color combo

What to do with excess scraps of fabric but turn it into something quirky, non? Especially if it's a weird colored one that's sort of maroon or magenta-ish. Anyway, here's one way to wear it because I'm telling you I had fun turning it around and playing with it. Should I call it the 'Venus' top? Wehehehe! It can be used as a halter top too and basta...there are other ways to wear it.

I paired it with a camo tank I got from the ukay. No brand. It was soooo hot that evening. My pants is DP with elastics on the back of the knee. I accessorized the look with a Thomas Sabo skull necklace, a Wonder Anatomie skull brooch Kawadjan gave me and my fave Moschino bag. My shoes is Giordano Concepts and I desperately need a new pair because it's just about to give up on me. Kiks bought it in HK for me like 2 years ago pa.

Barai Day

The mayhem continues with not only Kawadjan and Bubbles in the picture but Bettyinme itself. As they said, kulang na lang si Toxic at complete na ang tropa ng mga bagyo. LOL!

We had a very lazy, long breakfast full of juicy talks and all. If in case you bit your tongue or bumped into something that day, well, YOU now know who gossiped about you.

I took this photo on the way to the Barai, a man-made huge canal used during the zenith of the Khmer Empire. Cute lang nung bata with the big puppet!

Kawadjan was fascinated by that sight above so he asked me to take a photo of it. Don't we have that too in Pinas? I've seen much worse than that. It's an accident begging to happen, non?

This is just part of the Barai but it's sort of a canal and dam. Now people go there like it's a beach.

Nobody dared try these Khmer snacks. But I did before. So YUMMY!

I've tried this, too! Toxic gusto mo dalhan kita? How about si Karl, will he like this? Hehehe!

Since it was Khmer new year a lot of people were there to cool off and relax.

Some of our friends decided not to cross over to the man-made island in the middle of the barai so it was just me, Betty, Kawadjan, Bubbles and Karen. We hired the boat for $8. Kawadjan wasted no time in werqing it, of course. Did the boatman bat an eyelash? I think he's used to drunken tourists by now so it's not new to him.

Moi and Bubbles

Karen and Betty

When we arrived at the man-made island Kawadjan was not contented in werqing our boat but also werqd this smaller one in FRONT of all the locals there. I wouldn't be surprised if some impressionistic Khmer child would one day emerge and copy him.

Mawr.

MAWR!

All this to prove that he can out-fierce Betty.

Moving on, the intense summer heat have caused the waters to recede quite considerably so a silt bar has formed going to the island. We didn't need to see it though and was just happy that we crossed. In rainy season it's so nice because the boat can actually dock in the island shore.

What to do aber but make a Fashion Dairy, non?

Top: DP 'Owens' tee

Bottom: polka dot pants

Shoes: Giordano Concepts

Bag: Moschino

Necklace: Thomas Sabo skull

Here's K in all black.

Bubbles, the face that breaks the heart of blue eyed, blond creature.

And Betty, wearing a top he sewed himself.

Of course, when Kawadjan heard that Betty sewed his tee he went into defensive overdrive! He asked, 'Can Betty werq this bridge? Na-ah!'

Yes, he is looking straight at all his minions and you better vote for him or else...

It was so sweet of Tyra to buy food for us. We had some yummy catfish and Jurrasic fish with rice. I call it Jurrasic fish because it looks like an ugly dinosaur but it actually has a delish white flesh. National Geographic better come quick and 'discover' it.

We ate Khmer style on native woven mats.

Bubbles enjoying our lunch.

We briefly went to check out Sojourn, had snacks at the house and then decided to dip at the Golden Banana. We met up with Joe there and had cocktails. I think Joe and Bubbles had a nice connection there. Isn't it nice when friends of friends get it on like that?

Someone was giddy to have their first of the nth cocktail for the day.

A final group shot before we went home again and do costume change.

I brought them to Nest and we had some more 'lifestyle'.

Then Kawadjan shopped at Poetry and ended up buying 2 of my designs.

See Betty's account here and Kawadjan's take here.

Phew! And that was it.
