Mega, 'The Philippines Best Fashion Magazine', recently unveiled their September issue with Jo Ann Bitagcol on the cover, wearing a Cory yellow Lanvin cream puff top. Eyelabseeeet!
It's the fashion bible's big 'Fashion' issue of the year and includes its choice picks of the Most Stylish, the 25 names to watch in Philippine fashion and the round-up of the 10 best collections of the Philippine Fashion Week fall/winter 09.
The 'Standout 10' includes Martin Bautista, Norman Noriega (a got a piece from his collection), Dimples Lim, Joel Escober, among others.
Mega was very kind to include my collection, too. And such a nice write-up:
"Don Protasio's definitive point of view was crystal clear in this androgynous assortment of modern fashion. "I was compelled by the song 'What Else Is There?' by Royskopp and created a collection that screams dark and utilitarian," he shares. It was a successful attempt. Don has a natural penchant for making awkwardly layered style look contemporarily pleasing. The languid and easy lines, the somber palette and the simple fact that, when disintegrated, the pieces are individually wearable and identifiable are testaments to this designer's genius."
I don't know about genius but it's great how Mega totally got my intention of integrating and disintegrating pieces to a styled group and breaking it up individually for personal consumption. That's how we dress naman di ba? We mix it up with other pieces and really buy separates most of the time.
